Duraset, the market leader in Cellular Concrete pre-cast technology, is proud to introduce the concept of in-situ placement in civil and geotechnical applications.
Cellular Concrete is manufactured from a cementitious slurry, consisting of cement, fly-ash, sand and water, mixed with a stable protein foam to form a lightweight, closed cell concrete. Depending on the properties required, the density and composition can be changed to meet specific customer needs.
Backed by 16 years of Cellular Concrete manufacturing experience, technology partners in the form of leading Universities and an internal Materials Technology Centre, Duraset is your logical steadfast Cellular Concrete partner.
FEATURES
- Casting density and material properties can be designed to meet customer needs
- High compressive strength relative to density
- Natural self levelling ability whilst allowing free flow into all cavities
- Low loads on soft soil and sub-structures with close to 100% compaction guaranteed
- High energy absorption properties
- Cost effective
CHARACTERISTICS
- Lightweight (Density Range 400-1600 kg/m3)
- Low thermal conductivity (0.1-0.8W/mK vs normal concrete 1.7W/mK)
- Low water absorption (only 14% vs normal clay bricks, and less than 50% vs normal concrete)
- Structural CC wall, which is 15cm wide, will provide fire resistance for up to 7 hours
APPLICATIONS
- As a lightweight fill for storm water management and landscaping on roofs, parking garages and other structures
- Excellent insulator to reduce heating and cooling costs
- Rapid backfill and trench re-instatement
- Stable backfill before and after bridge abutments
- Prevents damage due to backfilling and reduces lateral loads behind retaining structures
- A lightweight alternative to standard building materials
- A superior pipe bedding material due to CC flow properties
- Cable encasement offers protection from theft, but is still accessible for maintenance
- Alternative sub-base for roads
